Air Waves - Privacy Policy

Air Waves is an app designed to broadcast audio from one Android device to many others.

In order to do so, we require several types of permissions to be allowed by the user.

This page describes the permissions required and how it is used.

  • android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
  • android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
These permissions are used to determine whether the WiFi network is connected.

  • android.permission.CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE
This permission is used to determine whether the device can use UDP multicast protocol (for broadcasting over a WiFi network) and gives access to enable that protocol.

  • android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO
This permission allows the app to record audio. Without this permission, the app is useless.
Air Waves does NOT and will NOT record audio behind your back.
You have complete control on when to start and stop recording.
  • android.permission.WAKE_LOCK
This permission allows to continue working when the phone is looking for ways to save power when the screen is locked. It's needed to prevent the app from locking up when the screen is locked during broadcast and keeps the WiFi on.
