Bloody hell, this garbage ain't user friendly at all!
These save an image the desktop:
- Command + Shift + 3
Take a screenshot of the whole screen - Command + Shift + 4, then select an area
Take a screenshot of the selected area - Command + Shift + 4, then Spacebar, then click a window
Take a screenshot of a window
To copy it to the clipboard, use the Shift key with the combinations above.
In Leopard and later, the following keys can be held down while selecting an area:
- Space
Move the selected region - Shift
Resize only one edge of the selected region - Option
Resize the selected region with its center as the anchor point
